Last year, Jon Tester and his wife Sharla went to Washington. It was
early May, around Mother's Day, and Tester was considering a run for the
U.S. Senate. The third term of Montana's Republican junior senator,
Conrad Burns, was drawing to a close, and Burns looked vulnerable.

Clark says, “Montana Needs a Leader Like Jon
Tester”
General Wes Clark
endorsed the candidacy of Jon Tester for
Senate in Montana. Tester, a
third-generation farmer and President of the
Montana Senate is challenging Republican
incumbent Sen. Conrad Burns this November.
General Clark said, “Today American
families face many difficult challenges at
home and abroad. There has never been a time
when foreign affairs were as closely linked
to the daily lives of Montanans as they are
now. We are fighting the causes of terrorism
that threaten our homes and we must prepare
for a changing global economy that demands
that America train our people to compete for
the highest paying jobs.
