~~HELENA - Police are investigating the theft of a fire hydrant from in front of the Montana State Firemen's Association building on Montana Avenue.

According to Helena Police Chief Troy McGee, the hydrant was stolen sometime between November 13th and 18th.

The stolen hydrant is a "twin" to the remaining hydrant, as seen in the photo.

Police believe the hydrant was torn from its cement foundation by a vehicle, and there is some damage to the step.

Chief McGee says that the hydrant is from the city of Great Falls many years ago and may not be replaceable.
